The plain version

No lawyers were involved in writing this. It is meant to be read and understood.

In one sentence

I get commissions for purchases made through links on this site. You pay the same price you would have paid anyway, and every such link is labeled at the point where you click it.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site — and in the descriptions of the videos that point here — are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the seller pays Sacred Pattern a commission.

You pay the same price either way. An affiliate link never costs you more, and it never unlocks a worse version of the product.

Every affiliate link is labeled immediately next to the link itself, before you click it — not only here on this page and not only in the footer. If a page carries no such label, it contains no affiliate links.

Sacred Pattern has no other relationship with these sellers. Nothing on this site is sponsored, nobody pays for placement, no company has been given review or approval over anything written here, and no free products have been accepted in exchange for coverage. If that ever changes, it will be said plainly on the page in question.

What a recommendation here means

It means the thing looked worth your attention. It does not mean it was independently tested, that it will work for you, or that the seller's own marketing claims are accurate. Sellers write their own sales pages, and some of them make claims this site would not repeat.

Products are not ranked by commission rate. When something stops being worth recommending, it comes off the list.

The standard of evidence used here

This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is worth being exact about it.

A very large amount of what gets written about frequency, sound, herbs, meditation, and consciousness is stated as fact when it is not. The usual sources of that confidence — long traditional use, personal testimonials, a study in a dish, a study in mice, a survey of people who liked the product — are genuinely interesting, and none of them establish that something works in a human being. They are treated here as what they are: history, anecdote, and preliminary work.

So the rule on this site is that the language matches the evidence. Where something has been tested properly in people, it is described that way and the work is named. Where a practice is old and widespread but untested, it is described as old and widespread and untested. Where something is a belief, it is called a belief. Traditional use is reported as tradition, never as proof.

The consequence is that this site will sometimes be less exciting than the page it is linking to. That is intentional.

Health and medical

Nothing on this site is medical, psychological, or mental-health advice. Nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, and none of the products mentioned are offered as a treatment for anything.

Audio, meditation, and sound practices are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are dealing with a medical or psychological condition — including any seizure disorder, for which certain rhythmic audio is specifically contraindicated — talk to a doctor before starting anything you read about here.

Where herbs, teas, essential oils, or supplements are mentioned anywhere on this site, the following applies to every one of them, without exception:

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Plants are not automatically safe because they are natural. Herbs and concentrated oils interact with prescription medication, and some are dangerous in pregnancy, for children, or with existing liver, kidney, or heart conditions. Essential oils in particular are concentrated enough to burn skin and are not for internal use. Ask a pharmacist or a doctor before combining anything with medication you already take.

Results

No outcome is claimed, promised, or implied. Individual experience varies enormously and testimonials — anyone's, including those on the sales pages linked from here — are not evidence of what will happen for you.

Nothing here is financial advice or an income claim of any kind.

Public-domain texts

Works in the library are reproduced because their copyright has expired in the United States. Each one names its source. They are free to read, copy, and share — they belong to everyone.

Publishing a text here is not an endorsement of it. These books are historical documents and several of them assert things about health, money, and the mind that are not supported by evidence. They are worth reading as the origin of ideas that are still circulating, not as instructions.

Accounts and privacy

The free Reader on this website does not require an account or an email address. The separate Sacred Pattern Archive application uses accounts for private Ledger entries and member research features. Account information is used to provide and secure those services and to send necessary transactional messages such as account, access, and payment notices. Subscription checkout and payment processing take place in the Archive application, not on this website.

Sacred Pattern does not operate a newsletter or sell email addresses. This site sets no advertising cookies of its own. Affiliate links, once clicked, may be tracked by the seller's network so a purchase can be credited; that tracking is governed by the seller's privacy policy.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, it gets fixed. That is the whole point of the project, and a correction is a favor rather than a complaint. Substantive corrections are noted on the page rather than quietly edited out.
